Great Western has 8 distinct claim groups in Nevada targeting both precious metals and base metals. Please explore each claim group and use the table below to see the different stages of exploration and subsequent evolution. Feel free to contact us with any questions you might have and we will be happy to help.

Snapshot

Tun (TN)

A mapping and rock sampling programme undertaken in 2019 identified multiple >2km strike length quartz veins and numerous historical adits including one with >300m drive length. The veins are up to 2m thick and have returned assays including 9.84 g/t Au, 4.99 g/t Au and 1.21 % Cu.

Key Facts

  • Current work includes organising a broad soil sampling programme across the iron oxide zone
  • Target range 5,000-25,000 oz gold

Exploration

A mapping and rock sampling programme undertaken in 2019 identified multiple >2km strike length quartz veins and numerous historical adits including one with >300m drive length.

The veins are up to 2m thick and have returned assays including 9.84 g/t Au, 4.99 g/t Au and 1.21 % Cu.

Vein orientations are NE-SW, NW-SE & E-W which correlate with the prospective structural and mineralogical setting of the Walker Lane Trend.

Current work includes organising a broad soil sampling program across the iron oxide zone, in order to delineate targets for further study.

Great Western has a target range of 5,000 - 25,000 oz gold for the Tun Group.

Geology

The Tun Group prospect appears to be a parallel system of multiple, oxide and sulphide, gold-silver veins and veinlet stockworks. Relatively small tonnages of supergene, multi-ounce, high-grade, bonanza-style ores were mined in the past.

Potential exists for moderate-sized deposits of shallow, oxidized stockworks and veins and deeper sulphide ores in the immediate vicinity of the historic M6 workings. Gold in three samples varied from 4,147 ppb Au to 9,839 ppb Au. Silver varied from 337 ppm Ag to 757 ppm Ag. Arsenic (As) and Antimony (Sb) were also strongly anomalous.

The Tun Group has the potential to be an underground or large open-pit project.
